What a blessing - God is good! After the trials of struggling to get through customs in Costa Rica and Los Angeles, and then standing in the rain waiting for a shuttle that claimed they couldn't find us, we are now home and can see all the blessings as well as the spiritual attacks put upon us. It was a great trip overall and the Lord gets the glory!
The team members that made the trip this year were: Byron Reiner, Timon Reiner, Douglas Goldsmith, Wayne Briggs, Wolfgang Freidrich and Kenneth Masser. The sending church was Willow Hills Baptist Church of Prescott, Arizona, USA.
Some of the things we saw accomplished were:
-
A two-sack cement mixer purchased for and given to the church in Costa Rica, Iglesia Comunidad de Fe
-
Two block machines also given to the church along with $1,000.00 for them to purchase materials to make the blocks, which will provide work for the people in their church.
-
Electrical work on the Sanctuary and the sewing room was headed up by Wayne with Doug helping him on the Sanctuary. The electrical in the church will now pass inspection. All the Costa Ricans have left to do is connect the electrical in the sewing room after it is inspected and complete a few things, such as doors.
-
Leach fields and a large sewage drain were dug and put in place. These will now pass inspection by the Ministry of Health.
-
A cutting table, sewing tables and cabinets were made by Wolfgang and Ken, sealed and varnished by other members of the team.
-
Translation work by Timon and Byron.
-
With financial help from Willow Hills, the church in Costa Rica was able to conduct a wonderful Vacation Bible School and even feed the children.
-
A dedication service was held for the cement mixer and the block machines.
-
A baby dedication service was held on New Years Eve where Pastor Byron had a part in the service.
-
A special breakfast was cooked by the team members for the Costa Rica people on New Years morning. Their faces showed amazement as they watched the North American men cook.
Many other things were accomplished and the Costa Rican people are very grateful! They were overwhelmed with the love from all of you who prayed, gave of your finances, and sent us to be your representatives. They really feel and gratefully expressed the feeling that they don't feel alone and that they are loved! They have never had a church reach out to them, once, let alone twice, in this way. Thank you for your wonderful part in this. We too, as Team Costa Rica, are richly blessed because of your contributions!
Thank you!
